Gene expression profiling is a powerful tool for determining the site of origin for difficult to diagnose tumors. It has been shown that cells of a distant metastasis retain the vast majority of the gene expression characteristics of their originating site. This allows CupPrint^® to compare the genomic profile of a metastasis with our comprehensive database of known tumor types, therefore determining the probable site of origin.

We suggest to use CupPrint^® early in the diagnostic work-up, after initial examination and basic immunochemistry. CupPrint^® will give a conclusive answer in 80-90% of the cases within 10 working days and thus saves valuable time and extensive diagnostic procedures.
